Strikethrough pricing explained

  • A strikethrough price compares prices of two rates or compares a rate to a fix price in a strikethrough policy.

  • This appears to the customer on the choose page of the booking engine.

  • A green save icon appears next to the rate or room.

  • A price will also appear with a line through it which indicates strikethrough is in use.

Use case for Strikethrough pricing

A use case of strikethrough pricing would be to compare an advanced purchase room only rate with a room only rate that can be cancelled or paid for at time of check-in. As the customer is paying in advance and is a secured booking you may want to offer a discount for the commitment of paying in advance. These prices are then compared on the booking engine and the customer can clearly see if they pay in advance they will receive a discount.
