Change the occupancy on a room for a specific rate
In some cases, you may want a rate to support a different occupancy than what’s set in the default room setup. For example, you might want to offer a special rate that only applies to single occupancy, even though the room allows up to two guests by default.
This can be done by overriding room occupancy at the rate level.
This feature gives you greater flexibility when tailoring rates to specific guest types or marketing offers.
⚠️Important: Occupancy overrides are only available for standalone rates.
Linked rates will always inherit occupancy settings from their parent rate and cannot be customized separately.
To override the room occupancy on a rate follow the steps below:
Log in to SHR booking engine.
On the left navigation panel select rates & packages, then select browse rates.
Click the edit button to the right of the rate you want to override room occupancy.
Select the rooms tab and select the room you wish to override occupancy.
Click Save changes.
Note: When you hit save changes a warning will come up to review your pricing for this rate. Tick the I confirm I want to make this change box and save changes.
