Occupancy filtering

Occupancy filtering is a feature that allows users to specify the number of adults and children before initiating a search, ensuring more accurate and relevant results.

You can add occupancy selection to both a booking widget, known as a Quickbook, within the booking engine search pages and to the top navigation bar for the portal to refine searches.

Benefits of occupancy filtering

Outlined below are the benefits of occupancy filtering.

  • Provides guests with tailored search results based on their party size.

  • Improves booking accuracy and reduces the need for manual adjustments.

  • Enhances user satisfaction by streamlining the booking process.

⚠️ Important: We strongly recommend reviewing your child band and pricing configurations at property level to ensure search filtering is accurately presented.

Enable occupancy selection on a Quickbook

If you already have a Quickbook widget on your website pages, but would now like to have occupancy filtering added to your Quickbook, then email [email protected] requesting this and the support team will send you on any additional code needed for your current Quickbook to enable occupancy filtering.

Otherwise, follow the instructions below for the new booking widget code.

  • If you want to filter the booking engine results based on the number of people being booked, then you need to pass values from your website to the booking engine URL that reflects the occupancy.

  • This means that you will need a Quickbook on your website that allows for occupancy to be passed through the URL to the booking engine.

πŸ“ŒNote: If the Access group creates maintains your website we will be able to implement this code for you.

  1. Click the Booking Engine tab.

  2. Click Website Integration.

    • A new page will open with a list of links and forms.

  3. At the top of the page under the header Index, click the Quickbook Form with native browser calendar link.

  4. Under the section quickbook forms in various configuration with native browser date picker or calendar, click the With Occupancy tab.

  5. Copy the form code from the grey box and pass to your website developers.

⚠️ Important: You must email [email protected] once you have implemented the above steps and ask to have occupancy filtering switched on for the booking engine.

πŸ€“ Tip: Ensure that your room and rate configurations support various occupancy levels to maximize the effectiveness of this feature.
