Understanding and setting up Rate Bands

Rate Bands offer a streamlined way to manage pricing based on demand. Instead of updating each rate individually, you can apply a Rate Band to adjust pricing across multiple rates at once—saving time and ensuring consistency.

For example, you might set up:

  • Low – for weekdays Monday-Thursday.

  • Medium – for weekends Fridays and Saturdays.

  • High – for high demand dates like weddings or local events.

How to setup your Rate Bands

  1. Click Rates & Packages and Rate Bands.

  2. Assign a rate code and rate name.

  3. Click Create Band.

  4. Optionally, assign a color by selecting a band colour and clicking the colour box next to the desired rate band.

  5. Set a default band from the dropdown menu, then click Save Changes.

🤓 Tip: You can easily reorder your Rate Bands—just drag and drop them into your preferred order.

Set the rates you want to manage with Rate Bands

  1. Click Rates & Packages and Browse Rates.

  2. Click edit next to the rate you would like to update. If you are setting up a new rate, navigate to the general tab.

  3. Within the General tab, from the Macro Type dropdown menu select Room/Band Prices.

  4. Click Save Changes.

Set your pricing

  1. On the Browse Rates screen, click prices next to the rate.

  2. Add pricing for each room across each band.

  3. Click save changes.

Note: If you're creating a new rate, make sure to set up your rate periods first. These can be organised by year, season, or any structure that suits your property.

Apply Rate Bands to specific dates

  1. Click Inventory Management and Daily Inventory .

  2. Select the appropriate Rate Band from the dropdown menu to specific dates as required.

🤓 Tip: Use the Daily Inventory calendar to assign Rate Bands for high-demand dates like events or festivals—and for quieter periods, apply lower bands to encourage more bookings and increase conversion.

Troubleshooting blank Rate Bands in the Inventory Manager

If your Rate Band is showing up as blank on specific dates in the Inventory Manager, there could be a few common reasons. Here’s what to check:

  • Double-check your Rate Band setup: Make sure the Rate Bands have been correctly created under Rates & Packages and Rate Bands.

  • Should the same Rate Band apply to all Room Types? If yes, you can apply a Rate Band at date level by selecting from the dropdown in the Manage Daily Room Inventory view.

⚠️ Important: Before applying a new Rate Band, check if any room-level Rate Band allocations have already been set, as these will override date-level selections.
