Sell date restrictions explained

Sell Date Restrictions allow you to control when a rate is available to book, based on the date of booking not the date of stay. This setting is applied at the rate level and is ideal for time-sensitive offers.

Sell Date Restrictions are useful for Flash sales for example 48-hour or 72-hour promotions or a limited-time offers that must be booked within a specific window.

🤓Tip: You can make a promotional rate available only for bookings made between May 1–3, while allowing guests to check in any time in the future.

Sell Date Restrictions apply to the booking window or when the guest is making the booking. They do not restrict check-in or stay dates. If you're looking to limit when guests can stay the best option is to use Rate Periods or Date-based Restrictions.

Set a sell date restriction

  1. Log into SHR Booking Engine.

  2. On the left navigation panel select Rates & Packages.

  3. Click Browse Rates.

  4. Find the rate you want to add a sell restriction.

  5. Select the edit button to the right.

  6. Select the restrictions tab.

  7. Under the sell date restrictions heading, select the date range you want the rate to be viewed and booked on.

  8. Click save changes.

⚠️Important: When a Sell Date Restriction is applied, the rate will only be visible and bookable during the specified booking window.

  • Guests won’t see the rate at all outside of the sell dates you’ve set.

  • Within that window, the rate can be booked for any valid stay date allowed by the associated Rate Period.
