Set up package rates

A Package [Room/Day] rate is used when you want to set one total price for a stay that lasts a fixed number of nights—usually for special multi-night offers.

  • The total price is based on the check-in day.

  • It’s useful when pricing needs to change depending on which day of the week the guest arrives.

⚠️Important: Pricing for this rate type can't be integrated with a PMS / Channel Manager due to restrictions in how those system operate.

  1. Log into SHR Booking Engine.

  2. On the left side navigation panel select Rates & Packages, then select Browse Rates.

  3. Click the create rate button to the left of the screen.

  4. Click the link here to see how to create a rate.

  5. Under the price management, macro type heading select package room / day prices from the drop down menu.

  6. Select the restrictions tab.

  7. Within the package rate you can add restrictions. This means you can limit the length of stay the rate is available for, the lead-in and more.

  • Stay (Min & Max Length of Stay): This controls how many nights a guest must stay to book the rate.

    • For Package Rates, the Min and Max stay must be the same.

Example: If you set both to 4, the guest can only book for exactly 4 nights, no more or less.

  • Lead-In (Min & Max Booking Notice): This defines how far in advance a guest must book:

    • Min Lead-In: The minimum number of days before check-in that the guest must book.

Example: Set to 7 = guest must book at least 7 days ahead. (Ideal for Advance Purchase rates)

    • Max Lead-In: The maximum number of days before check-in the rate is available.

Example: Set to 14 = rate is visible only for bookings up to 14 days in advance.

  • Check-In Days: Choose which days of the week guests are allowed to check in for this rate.

    • Great for Midweek Specials where you don’t want check-ins on weekends.

  • Length of Stay (LOS) Pattern: Tick this to force guests to book a specific stay pattern (e.g., always 2 nights or always Sunday–Tuesday).

  • Sell Date Restrictions: Use this to limit when the rate can be booked—not when the guest stays.

Example: For a flash sale, you can make the rate bookable only between May 1–3, even if the stay is later.
Leave this unticked if the rate should always be available to book.

  • LOS Discounts (Stay & Save): Apply Length of Stay discounts without needing to create separate rates.

Example: “Stay 3 nights and save 10%.” This is an easy way to offer deals and keep things simple in your rate setup.

Add a period to new rates

Once the rate is saved you will need to add a period to the new rate. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Go back to your list of rates.

  2. On your hidden rate, select the periods button to the right of the rate.

  3. Click add rate period and enter the rate periods for that rate.

  4. Next you will need to add pricing to your rate.

Add pricing

Once you have added the rate period you will then need to add pricing.

  1. The pricing is entered for every day of the week. For package pricing the prices are entered with the total amount of the stay on the day of checkin, if it was €260 to stay for 3 nights check-in on a Monday you enter 260 in the Monday box, If it is €360 to stay for 3 nights check-in on the Friday you enter 360 in the Friday box.

  2. Click save changes.
