Set up blended rates

Blended Rates are designed to offer guests the lowest possible total price for their stay—by combining pricing from multiple eligible rate plans. This gives bookers access to discounts that would otherwise require:

  1. Booking multiple separate stays, or

  2. Missing out on the best price across different days.

Blended Rates are especially useful when:

  • You have different rates available across the week or stay period.

  • You want to automatically offer the best combined pricing without the guest needing to split their booking.

⚠️Important: Once a rate is created as a Blended Rate, it cannot be changed to another rate type.

  1. The price type field is not editable on Blended Rates.

  2. All Blended Rates are treated as Advanced (Non-linear) Pricing within the system.

To set up a blended rate follow the steps below:

  1. Log into SHR booking engine.

  2. On the left side navigation panel select rates & packages, then select browse rates.

  3. Click the create rate button to the left of the screen.

  4. Click the link here to see how to create a rate.

  5. Under the price management, macro type heading select blended from the drop down menu.

  6. Once you have all the information added, select save changes.

  7. Go back to your rates list and select the configure button on the blended rate you have created.

  8. You will be prompted to select up to 5 source rates from which the blended rate will derive its prices. It is important to select rates that are generally compatible, e.g. similar terms and conditions, restrictions, tax policies etc.

  9. When you have added the source rates you then need to configure the options for how the blended rate will behave.

  • Package rounding: For multi-night packages that are a source for blended rates, decide how the average price per night should be rounded. e.g. €200 for 3 night stay = €66.666667 (round down to €66.66 or round up to €66.67)

  • Force restriction for the corresponding price: When a blended rate uses the lowest price from a source rate, it also checks if that source rate has any restrictions (like minimum stay rules). E.g: If the lowest price is €49 and it comes from a rate that requires a minimum 2-night stay, the blended rate will also require at least 2 nights. So, any restrictions from the source rate (like Min Length of Stay) will still apply when that price is used.

  • Include suspended source rates: Rates that are normally suspended can still be used as a source for a blended rate if this option is selected.

  • Enforce leadin restriction from source rates: If a rate has a leadin restriction enabled on the rate you can choose this option to also have the blended rate to have the same leadin time.

10. Once you have all configurations completed, click save changes.
