Currency pricing calculation and displayed

⚠️ Important: Regardless of the currency displayed, payment is always taken in the hotel's base currency

The Booking Engine defaults to the hotel's base currency.

There are 2 scenarios, where it is possible to display the pricing across the Booking Engine pages to a shopper in an alternative currency.

Situations where an alternate currency will be displayed

  1. If currency prediction functionality is turned on, we will attempt to automatically show the prices in the local currency of the shopper based on the geolocation of their device's IP Address.

  2. If a shopper specifically selects to see pricing in an alternative currency on the Booking Engine. A shopper will do this by clicking the currency symbol within the Booking Engine to open the choose a new currency pop up and then manually changing to an alternate option.

Daily Exchange Rate Updates

  • SHR retrieves exchange rates daily from the European Central Bank also called the ECB.

  • These rates are used to convert your base currency into the selected display currency.

Display vs. Booking Currency

  • The converted rates are for display and comparative purposes only.

  • All bookings are processed in your property's default currency.

⚠️ Important: If you want to disable Customer Currency Predication or turn on Offer Payment in Local Currency you must contact the Support team to action.
