Tags in your booking engine
Tags are used for Smart Ordering and need to be set up in two stages. To ensure the tags are set up correctly you need to decide what rates you want to tag and what corresponding pages on your website you want to tag.
Watch the video below to see how to set up tags:
The Tags tab in the Rate Editor allows you to apply predefined or custom tags to specific rates. These tags play a key role in Smart Ordering, which helps tailor the booking experience to each guest. It must be done in stages, follow the steps below to set up:
Adding tags to a rate
Go into SHR booking engine.
On the left navigation panel select rates and packages, then select browse rates.
Select the edit button to the right of the rate you wish to add tags to.
Select the tags tab.
Check the boxes of the relevant tabs you wish to add.
You can also add custom tags, should you need to add more than one you can separate the tags by adding a comma between each one.
Click Save changes.
How tags work with smart ordering
Smart Ordering boosts the visibility of relevant rates to individual shoppers based on their browsing behavior.
Example:
If a user browses your Spa page, and the Spa tag is applied to a rate:
That rate will appear higher in their search results within the booking engine.
Enabling Smart Ordering
Go into SHR booking engine.
On the left navigation panel select site configuration, then select edit site profile.
Select the search tab.
Confirm that smart enabling is enabled.
Under the smart ordering rules, make sure matching tags is one of the active criteria.
Click Save changes.
Setting up smart ordering with tags
Go into SHR CRM.
On the left navigation panel, select generate tracking script.
Select the relevant tag for example, spa, then select the build button.
Copy the tracking script and have your web developer place it on the matching page of your website (e.g., your Spa page).
When Smart Ordering is active, this tells the booking engine to prioritize matching tagged rates for users coming from that page.
