Symbols next to rates

On the browse rates screen there are multiple symbols next to rates and this article will outline what they are.

Symbols next to a rates explained

  • Firstly navigate to the booking engine along the top navigation.

  • On the left navigation hover over rates and packages.

  • Click browse rates.

  • You will see all your rates listed along with the symbols.


Each symbol has a different purpose as outlined below:


Pause symbol

Will be highlighted when your rate is suspended and not available for sale.

Star symbol

Will be highlighted when your rate is a preferred rate. A preferred rate is a rate that you can manually set to appear in your top search results.

Lock symbol

Will be highlighted if your rate is a protected rate which requires a promo code to unlock it.

Person symbol

Will be highlighted if your rate is a member only rate.

Question mark symbol

Is the rate troubleshooting tool that can be used to diagnose if there is a problem when a rate is not showing in the booking engine.


Gear symbol

Is used for rates that you wish to have managed by an external interface.

Type

This section refers to how the price is managed.

Internally managed rate

Pricing is managed in the booking engine.

Package symbol

This package symbol shows that this price management type is package pricing this is used for multi night stays where the total price is based on the day of check in, some examples of rates that would use package pricing are 2 Nights B&B or 2 Nights Spa Escape.

Blended rate

This symbol shows that this price management type is a blended rate, this is used to offer more flexibility for customers and the lowest price across multiple rates to allow the customer to avail of a discount on their total length ­of ­stay that:

  • Would not be available if booking across single rate.

or

  • Requires two or more bookings.

External Interface

This symbol means the rate is managed by an external interface and get's its pricing from a PMS or channel manager.

Linked rate

This symbol shows a link and this signifies that the rate is a linked rate.
