The Browse Rate Screen is accessed within the Booking Engine, navigate to Rates & Packages and select Browse rates.
Below is detailed description of the Browse Rates Screen.
1. Create Rate: The option to create a new rate.
2. Sort Rates: The option to reorder your rates in terms of how they will present on the front end of the SHR booking engine.
3. Filter: Select the drop-down menu to view the options.
3a. Hide Suspended Rates: By default, suspended rates are hidden from the rate list page, these can be toggled on / off using this option.
3b. Filter by Rate Type: You can filter by rate type to help you find the rate you are looking for, if you only want to have your externally managed rates or package rates listed for example, you can select that filter here.
3c. Filter by category code: You can filter by category code to help you find the rates you are looking for associated with that code.
4. Search: The search option will help you find your rates. You can type in what you are looking for and any rates matching that search string, will be returned. Searching is available on a few different aspects of the rate:
Rate code and External rate code will be checked first.
Rate Title, if the search string is not matched to either the internal or external rate codes, we will check the rate title.
Room and Channel mapping, if the search string is still not found within the rate title, we will check the room and channel
5. Rate Code: There are 2 columns designated for the rate code, the first one is for internal rate codes for parent rates. The second is for external rate codes, only displayed if the external rate code is not the same as the internal rate code or it is an internally linked rate.
6. Category codes: are available to make it easier to evaluate rate production within Insights.
7. Rate Title: For the rate title, we first look to display the short rate title, if this is empty we will display the long rate title. The rate title can also be used to expand the list of rate periods for the rate, if there are rate periods to be displayed for this rate.
8. Room Mapping: This column will outline the rooms mapped to this rate.
9. Channel Mapping: This column will outline what channels this rate is mapped to.
10. Type: This column will display an icon to indicate the rate type of each rate. There are a number of rate types, distinguishable but different icons:
Internal - The icon for internal rates is a circle with a dot in the middle.
External - The icon for external rates is a downward pointing arrow.
Linked - The icon for a linked rate is a chain link icon.
Package - The icon for a package rate is a package box icon.
Blended - The icon for blended rates is a layered group icon.
11. Mgmt: After the column with the rate type icons, is a column with a number if icons that allow some quick edits to a rate. The following options are listed below:
Pause Icon - allows you to quickly suspend a rate.
Star Icon - allows you to quickly mark a rate as a preferred rate.
Padlock Icon - allows you to quickly mark a rate as a protected rate.
Person Icon - allows you to quickly mark that a rate is member only rate.
Cog Icon - this will open a popup that will allow you to make some changes to the rate, the options on this popup are listed below.
External - if the rate is currently internally managed you can switch it to an externally managed rate for use with an interface.
Internal - if the rate is currently externally managed you can switch it to an internally managed rate.
Linked - you can switch a rate to be a linked rate off of another rate.
Standalone - you can unlink a linked rate and make it a standalone rate.
12. Helpdesk: Clicking this will bring you to the rate troubleshooter page for this rate.
13. Gear Icon: Convert your rate from internal to external.
14. Edit: Every rate will have the edit option available, this will bring you to the usual rate editor screen.
15. Periods: Internally managed rates (excluding linked rates) will have this option. This will bring you to the usual rate period editor where you can configure a number of periods for the rate.
16. Prices: Internally managed rates (excluding linked rates) will have this option. This will take you to the usual price management screen for this rate related to the current active rate period. Expand: Internally managed rates that have rate periods in place, will have a button in the last column that you can use to expand / collapse the list of rate periods. As mentioned earlier, the ‘prices’ menu option will bring you to the price management screen for the current active rate period. If you have multiple rate periods, and need to access the price management screen for future periods, you can use this option to expand the list, and get to the price management screen for those rate periods.
