1. ResDiary table booking integration
Guests can now book a restaurant table through ResDiary as part of the room booking flow, turning a room reservation into a fuller stay in a single journey and capturing covers you would otherwise rely on the guest to book separately.
📌 Note: this integration requires your own ResDiary account and contract. Speak to your account manager if you do not already have one in place.
What your guests see
A table-booking section appears on the guest page during the booking flow. From there guests can complete the following.
Choose a restaurant, party size, date, time and area.
Select any available promotions.
Add special requests.
Book more than one table in the same journey using the cart.
Add, edit or remove chosen time slots in the Your Selections view.
Table bookings then appear in the final summary on the details page, on the finish page, and in the transaction details, so the guest sees a consistent picture from selection through to confirmation.
Modifications and cancellations
Reservations that include a ResDiary table booking cannot be modified in place. There are two options.
Cancel the reservation, subject to the applicable terms. The table is released in ResDiary automatically.
Use cancel-to-rebook, the existing guided flow. The table is not carried over, so the guest selects a new sitting against live availability.
Setting it up
Configuration lives under Site Configuration › ResDiary Configuration. You control how the prompt is presented to guests.
Title, button label and description, each set per language.
Images.
Your ResDiary connection details are entered on the Advanced tab.
📌 Note: Need a hand setting this up? Contact support at [email protected].
Reporting
Confirmed table bookings are captured for Insights reporting, including restaurant, party size, area and promotion.
A ResDiary Bookings widget has also been added to the custom report builder in Insights, so ResDiary activity can be combined with data from other sources. Select the widget from the control panel and configure the dimensions and metrics you need.
⚠️ Important: A ResDiary account and contract are required, and the integration must be configured per site before it appears to guests.
2. Banner messages
Timed Announcements has been replaced by Banner Messages. It does everything Timed Announcements did, showing notifications to guests while they book, and adds visual styling, more precise targeting, and control over where each message appears. Your existing announcements are carried across automatically, so nothing is lost.
A more polished look
You can now choose from four visual styles to match the tone of the message.
Brand (Ghost): neutral, on-brand styling for general information.
Warning: for important notices that need attention.
Critical: for urgent, high-priority alerts.
Success: for positive confirmations and good news.
You can also pick a custom icon for each banner and see a live preview as you build it, so you know exactly how it will look to guests before publishing.
Message placement
Banners can now appear in different places depending on what they relate to.
Top of the page: general messages that apply to everyone.
Alongside a specific rate: messages that relate only to a particular rate.
Alongside a specific room: tied to a room, or to a specific room-and-rate combination.
This means a general welcome message and a rate-specific note can appear in the right places on the same page at the same time.
In addition to search results, the occupancy/upsells step and the confirmation email, you can now show a banner on the confirmation page as well.
Targeting filters
Five independent filters control precisely who sees each message and when.
Pages: which booking pages the banner appears on.
Visibility period: the dates during which the banner is live.
Check-in dates: show the banner only to guests whose stay falls in a given range, for example guests arriving over a holiday period.
Rates: limit the banner to selected rates, with a search box for long lists.
Rooms: limit the banner to selected rooms, and combine with rates for finer targeting.
Visibility dates are now separate from check-in dates. In the previous system a single date range covered both. You can now run a banner today that is only shown to guests arriving during a specific future period, which was not possible before.
Easier to organise
Ordering your messages is now a matter of dragging and dropping them into the order you want.
What happens to your existing announcements
Timed Announcements is retired at this release and its screen is removed. All current announcements are carried over into Banner Messages automatically. Each one keeps its text, order and status, is given the standard Warning style with an information icon, and has its original dates preserved as a check-in date range. Deleted and very old announcements are not migrated, so you start with a clean, relevant set.
📌 Note: Migration happens automatically. We recommend reviewing your migrated banners after release to apply the most appropriate style and, where useful, to separate visibility dates from check-in dates.
3. Stripe Setup Intent: card storage without payment
Stripe Checkout now supports setup mode, which lets you collect and securely store a guest's card details without charging them at the time of booking. This supports rates and booking types where payment is taken later, and gives you a stored payment method in Stripe to charge against.
Enabling setup mode
A new Setup Intent flag has been added to the Stripe editor. With the flag enabled, the Stripe payment option on the details page lets guests complete checkout without paying a deposit, capturing their card and storing it as a payment method in Stripe for future payments. With the flag left disabled, the existing payment-mode behaviour continues exactly as before.
What your guests see
On the details page, the Stripe label and prompt change to reflect the mode in use.
Mode | Card label | Prompt shown to guest |
Setup mode | Secure card setup with Stripe | You will be redirected to Stripe to save your card information. No payment will be taken at this stage. |
Payment mode (default) | Checkout with Stripe | You will be redirected to Stripe to complete your payment. |
Configuring your Stripe webhooks
Add a webhook destination in your Stripe dashboard and select the four events below. Together they cover both outcomes of saving a card and both outcomes of taking a payment, which is what allows delayed payments and failed payments to be handled correctly.
⚠️ Warning: This is a merchant responsibility. Configuring the required webhook events in your own Stripe account is mandatory to support delayed payments and payment failure handling. Do not enable setup mode until your webhooks are in place.
Event | Fires when |
payment_intent.succeeded | A PaymentIntent has successfully completed payment. |
payment_intent.payment_failed | A PaymentIntent has failed to create a payment method or take a payment. |
setup_intent.succeeded | A SetupIntent has successfully saved a payment method. |
setup_intent.setup_failed | A SetupIntent has failed to save a payment method. |
Compliance
Stripe places responsibility for compliance with applicable law, regulation and card network rules on the merchant when card details are stored for later use. In practice this means your terms need to state how you will store and use a guest's card, guests need to be able to opt in, and you should keep a record of that agreement. Review your terms with your own advisers before enabling setup mode.
4. Omit general hotel terms and conditions
A new per-rate setting, Omit General Hotel Terms & Conditions, gives you rate-by-rate control over whether your standard hotel terms are shown to guests at all. It is useful where a rate has its own dedicated terms and repeating the general hotel terms alongside them would be redundant or confusing.
What it does
Enable the option on a rate and the general hotel terms are removed for that rate at every point a guest would otherwise see them. Nothing else changes. The following continue to display as normal.
The rate's own specific terms and conditions.
Your privacy policy.
Your best rate guarantee.
A rate's tailored terms can therefore stand on their own.
Where to find it
The option sits in a new Rate Flags section on the rate editor's Advanced page. It is a simple checkbox: tick it to omit the general hotel terms for that rate, leave it unticked to keep the current behaviour.
Where it applies
Once enabled for a rate, the general hotel terms are removed at every stage.
Before booking: wherever that rate is presented to the guest during the booking flow.
After booking: the confirmation page and rate details view, and the guest's My Reservation page.
In email: the confirmation email.
In short, the general hotel terms are never shown against that rate. Only its own terms apply, alongside your privacy policy and best rate guarantee.
📌 Note: Optional, per rate. Existing rates are unchanged.
5. Portal: skip hotel results
A new portal flag, Skip Hotel Results (Direct to Guests Page), takes guests who click Book Now on a specific rate and room straight to the guest details page, with rate, room, dates and occupancy already filled in. The hotel results page is skipped, reducing the booking from two clicks to one.
This removes a duplicate selection step that was causing confusion and drop-off, particularly for group and corporate bookers who had already made their choice.
Where it applies
Single-room bookings where a specific rate and room have been selected. Multi-room bookings and Explore mode are unchanged, as is direct booking engine traffic.
⚠️ Important: Tick the flag under Portal › Edit Site Profile › Flags.
📌 Note: The Back breadcrumb still returns guests to the results page, but it will open in the default view rather than any view they had selected.
6. Insights: pace charts for reservations and room nights
The Pace report now includes two column charts, one for Reservations and one for Room Nights, grouped by month of check-in for clearer trend analysis. Each chart carries six series so you can compare like for like against last year.
Series | Meaning |
Booked | Current year booked. |
Booked prev. Year | Previous year booked. |
Cancelled | Current year cancelled. |
Cancelled prev. Year | Previous year cancelled. |
Net | Current year net. |
Net prev. Year | Previous year net. |
Including both net and cancelled values gives a more complete year-on-year comparison and makes it easier to see what is driving pace.
📌 Note: No. The new charts are available automatically.
7. Fixes
Resolved in this release.
Label | Area | Detail |
Fix | Insights: Pace report | Resolved a display issue affecting the Pace report. Inconsistencies in how data was rendered have been corrected, and layout, alignment and visibility have been improved so the report presents correctly across supported views. |
