November 2026 release note

Introducing Browse by Interest, dining packages with ResDiary, a confirmation page itinerary, new reports and security updates in Access Booking Engine+.

Written by Fernando Fallabrino

We're pleased to announce the November 2026 release of Access Booking Engine+, focusing on helping guests find the right offer faster and book with more confidence. It also gives your team more control over how the booking journey looks and works.

This release is available from Tuesday 3 November 2026.

What's new?

Browse by Interest and default rate groups

Hotels with a large number of rates can leave guests facing a long, undifferentiated list. Your rate groups now appear as visual interests on the results page, and you can choose which groups guests see first.

The Browse by interest row of chips with the All offers panel open, showing interest cards with images, titles and counts and an Apply button.

Browse by Interest

A new Browse by interest button sits in the results sort and filter bar, next to Filter and View. A badge shows how many interests the guest has selected.

  • Each interest is a card with the rate group's title, image and a count, for example Romantic Breaks (7). The count is the number of room and rate combinations the current search returns for that group.

  • Guests are only offered groups they can choose. These groups are not protected, not hidden, inside their booking window and have results for the current dates and occupancy.

  • Special Rates (rates unlocked by a promo code, guest account or event) and Other rates groups are created automatically, so no rate becomes unreachable.

  • The Filter modal keeps the room group filter. Confirming a room filter no longer clears the guest's interest selection.

Default rate groups

Mark one or more rate groups as default groups and the results page opens with those groups preselected, showing a shorter, curated list.

  • A filtered results banner with a Reset button lets guests return to every rate.

  • Clearing every interest shows all rates. It does not reapply the default groups.

  • Availability and pricing are unaffected. Calendar prices, from prices, nearest availability and shoulder date suggestions still reflect all rates.

  • If the selected groups have no availability for the dates searched, the filter is bypassed and all available rates are shown.

  • Where no rate group is set as a default, nothing changes.

Inline option

If you prefer an always visible row, set Interest selector type to Inline in the site's Results options. The button and modal are replaced by a Browse by interest row of chips above the results, each showing its title and count.

  • Tap a chip to select or deselect that interest. Results refresh once, about one second after the last tap.

  • An All offers toggle expands a panel with the same image cards and an Apply button.

  • Chips are announced as checkboxes to screen readers, and animation is turned off for guests who have reduce motion set.

Configuration

The modal is on by default for every site that has selectable rate groups, so no action is needed. Sites with no selectable rate groups see no change.

  • Rate group titles and images are now the guest facing interest labels, so review them.

  • Choose default groups in your Rate Groups setup.

  • Choose the Inline option in the site's Results options.

🤓 Tip: Put your best value, most broadly applicable rates in the default group or groups. From prices are calculated across all rates, so a default group that leaves out the cheapest rates can advertise a price the visible list does not contain.

📌 Note: In this release, the automatically created Special Rates and Other rates groups appear in English on all languages, and result counts appear as a bare number in brackets. Localisation will follow. The filter applies to the main results page only, not to rate, rate group, room or room group pages.

Dining packages with ResDiary

You can now sell rooms with dining included. A dining package is a ResDiary policy attached to a rate. When a guest books that rate, the ResDiary booking window guides them through booking the meals the package includes. It limits restaurants, services, areas, menus and times to the package, and keeps the party size in line with the room occupancy.

The Your dining package booking window, showing the outstanding Dinner 2 of 2 meal with its time window.

Set up a dining package

To create a policy, click Booking Engine, then click Advanced Site Configuration. Click Dining Policy, then click Edit. Then link a rate to one policy using the new Dining Policy option on the Advanced tab of the rates editor. The policy list shows which rates are linked to each policy.

Package setting

Options

What it does

Selection

Mandatory (default) or Optional

With Mandatory, the guest cannot continue to checkout until every included meal is booked.

Party size

Occupancy (default) or Fixed

With Occupancy, each dining booking is for the room's adults plus children. Infants are not counted.

Additional bookings

Allow (default) or Package bookings only

With Allow, guests may also book dining that is not part of the package. With Package bookings only, guests see only options that count towards it.

Each package is made up of one or more dining elements, for example dinner, lunch, breakfast or afternoon tea. For each element you set:

  • How many bookings are required.

  • Whether they are counted per stay, per night or per day of stay.

  • An optional time window, including windows that run past midnight.

  • Optionally, the restaurants, services, areas and menus that count.

A new Allow Area Selection checkbox in the ResDiary configuration lets guests choose a seating area. It is off by default. If it is off but the package is restricted to specific areas, the area selector is still shown.

What guests see

  • A banner in the table booking section of the Guests page says whether package selection is required, with a progress section showing the meals still to book.

  • In the booking window, a chip for each element shows booked against required (for example Dinner 1 of 2) and its time window. Completed elements show a tick, and the banner changes to Package complete when everything is booked.

  • Where extra dining is allowed, an Extra chip lets the guest book outside the package. Options outside the package are marked [extra], and menus are labelled Included in your package or Not part of your package.

  • Party size, restaurant, date, time, area and menu choices are all filtered by the package. If nothing is available, the selector says so (for example No availability) rather than showing an empty list.

📌 Note: Menus that ResDiary flags as possibly needing a credit card or deposit are not shown. The booking engine cannot take that payment, and ResDiary would drop the booking.

Confirmation page itinerary

The booking confirmation page used to list everything the guest had booked as one flat list: room, extras, spa treatments, restaurant tables and included meals all mixed together. It now shows a day by day plan of the stay for each room booking, in time order.

The Your Itinerary section on the confirmation page, showing a day-by-day timeline with spa, check-in and dining cards.

  • A timeline with arrival and departure days labelled, and check-in and check-out cards. These include early check-in and late check-out times when purchased.

  • Extras shown as a priced breakdown on the check-in card, with quantity, unit price and line total.

  • Spa treatments and restaurant bookings on the right day, with time, guests, area and price. Included meals (breakfast, dinner) are shown per day with the rate they come from.

  • Type badges: Room, Spa, Dining and Included.

  • An add to calendar option on each item, plus Add whole itinerary to calendar for the whole trip (.ics download). Calendar entries carry restaurant, service, party size, area, promotion, room, times and the booking reference.

  • Special requirements for each room now have their own label, separate from the Itinerary section.

📌 Note: The check-in time comes from the property's Earliest ETA setting, so properties that have never set it use its default value. Check-out is a fixed 11:00 AM unless the guest has purchased late check-out, as there is no property level check-out setting yet.

Post-booking guest survey

A short Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey now appears on the booking finish page, helping you measure how guests feel about the booking process.

The optional 10 second survey on the confirmation page, asking how easy it was to complete the booking on a 0 to 10 scale.

  • Guests rate their booking experience from 0 to 10, with an optional comment, or skip the survey altogether.

  • Each response is stored against the booking, with the score, comment, booking reference, device type, property and submission time.

  • Reporting in Convert Admin shows NPS metrics, the spread of responses and device insights, over reporting periods you can configure.

Use the results to spot usability issues, compare properties and track how guest feedback changes over time.

Richer room and rate content

Room facility icons

Facility icons are back. The icon and display order already set on your Room Facilities screen now appear in the Amenities list of the room information modal, which makes a long list easier to scan. Facilities without an icon keep the plain bullet and stay aligned with the icons.

This option is for Compass booking engine sites only and is opt-in. To turn it on:

  1. Select the Show Room Facility Icons option on the Internal tab of Advanced Site Setup.

  2. Assign an icon to each facility on the Room Facilities screen.

Only Font Awesome icons can be selected. You can roll icons out gradually, as facilities without an icon continue to show bullets.

RealSee 3D tours

We previously supported only Matterport for 3D tours of your rooms. RealSee is now supported as well, giving you a second option. Tours appear in the room modals in the Booking Engine and the Portal. You manage them on the Images and Videos tab of the Room edit screen.

Auto-generated cancellation policy text

Rates can now show a clear, readable cancellation policy generated from the policy's own rules, including seasonal rules, in the guest's language. This saves you writing it by hand and keeps it accurate if the rules change.

The text appears in:

  • The rate information modal on the results and guests pages.

  • The details, finished and cancellation pages.

  • The confirmation email.

How the text is shown depends on the search:

  • With an arrival date, deadlines are shown as actual dates and times, for example Until 18:00 on Fri 28 Aug 2026: Cancellation not allowed.

  • Without an arrival date, deadlines are shown relative to arrival, with seasonal policies listed per date range.

In confirmation emails, a new @CANCELLATIONPOLICYTEXT@ token is available, plus a Cancellation Policy block in the terms section.

To turn it on, click Rate Edit, then select Enable Dynamic Cancellation Policy Text in the rate flags for each rate where you want it.

Guests page section order

You can now control the order of the optional sections that appear under each room on the Guests page. Drag the sections into the order you want in the new Guests Page Section Order setting in the site profile editor. The order is applied to every room in the basket.

The sections you can order are:

  • Early Check-in and Late Check-out.

  • Upsells (Personalise Your Stay).

  • Room Upgrades.

  • Table Booking.

  • Spa Booking.

  • Sections that are not enabled, or have nothing to sell for the stay dates, are skipped automatically, so there are no empty cards or gaps.

  • Mandatory charges are not part of the order. They stay directly below the occupancy selectors, next to the price they affect.

  • Sites that have not set an order keep the existing order: Early Check-in and Late Check-out, Room Upgrades, Upsells, Spa Booking, Table Booking.

  • Early Check-in and Late Check-out now has its own You may be interested in card. The card only appears when at least one of the two is on sale.

📌 Note: This release also fixes an issue where upsell group selections could be silently dropped when a multivariate test limited the number of upsell groups shown. What the guest sees and what is validated now follow the same rules.

Banner messages

Call-to-action buttons

Banner messages can now carry a button. The editor has a new Advanced step, so the wizard is now General, Advanced and Display Filters. Choose a button action and enter a label for each language.

Button action

What it does

Restrictions

No Call To Action

Text only banner (the default).

None.

Link to a web page

Opens the URL you choose.

None.

Apply a promo / rate code

Applies a code to the guest's search.

Not allowed on the Confirmation Page or Confirmation Email.

Open Login Modal

Opens the guest login form in a popup.

Only on messages shown to logged off guests. Not allowed on the Confirmation Email.

Open ReviewPro Reviews Modal

Opens the hotel's ReviewPro reviews in a popup.

Not allowed on the Confirmation Email.

New visibility filters and display place

  • Two new filters: Only show if user is logged in and Only show if the user is logged off.

  • Only show if no promo code or user account applied hides the message once the guest has applied a code or signed in to a member account.

  • Room/Rate modal is a new Show On option. Messages appear in the room info and rate info popups, and only where the message's room or rate filter matches that card. If both filters are set, both must match.

Banner messages on the Portal

The Portal now has its own Banner Messages section, with a list page and an editor in the Portal menu.

  • Portal messages are limited by hotel site instead of by room or rate. Leave the site list empty to show a message for all sites.

  • Call-to-action options are the same, except the ReviewPro action: no action, link to a web page (with an optional new window), apply a promo / rate code, or open the login modal. The three visibility filters are also available.

  • On the Portal search page, messages with no site filter show at the top of the hotel results.

  • Messages for a site show on that hotel's card (filtered by the guest's dates), in the hotel info popup on the site list and map, and in the hotel details popup.

Promo code rates on the Portal

When a guest arrives on a Portal with a promo code, whether in a deeplink or entered in the promo code modal, the Portal can now show only the rates that code unlocks for each property. Previously, the unlocked rate was blended into the price ordered list. This matches how an individual property booking engine already behaves, and makes it clear which rate the code has opened up.

  • Properties the code does not unlock continue to show their normal public rates, so a multi-property search still returns a full set of results.

  • The Portal only loads and prices the rates mapped to the code, which also reduces the work done per search.

  • Individual property booking engines are unchanged, and guests browsing without a promo code see no difference.

Configuration

This is off by default. To turn it on, enable the Portal site flag Show only Unlocked/Mapped Rates when a Promo Code is used on the Portal site profile (Portal Flags). Promo codes must already be set up in CRM with rates mapped to them. No change is needed to existing codes, rates or deeplinks.

📌 Note: While a promo code session is active, standard rates for an unlocked property are not shown. If the unlocked rate has no availability for the dates, the property returns no prices rather than falling back to public rates. Depending on your Show Site in Results even if no Rates Available flag, it is either omitted or shown as unavailable. A rate mapped to a code but not set as protected is shown without the Unlocked Rate badge.

Rate propagation for groups

Hotel groups that sell the same externally managed rate (priced by a PMS or channel manager) across several properties no longer need to rebuild it by hand at each one. Set it up once and push it to the other properties in your group.

How it works

  1. Check sites: start from the new Rate Propagation icon on the rate list. Every active property in the group reports whether it can receive the rate, with the reason and any warnings. Nothing is written at this stage.

  2. Push: send the rate to the sites you select from those that passed. It lands in each site's new Rate Propagation Queue.

  3. Review at the receiving property: click Rates and Packages, then click Rate Propagation Queue. Click process to open the rate editor prefilled with the sent configuration, review it, and save. The rate is created as suspended. Entries can also be cancelled.

Rooms, rate bands, tax, cancellation and strikethrough policies, strikethrough rates and rate groups are matched between properties by code. Anything without a match is left blank for the receiving property to complete. Rates linked to an externally managed rate can also be propagated, with their price adjustments and close-outs.

Copied

Not copied

Rate code and external rate code, rate and price type, guest facing text, sell dates, stay and lead-in rules, check-in days, inclusions, room limits, deposit settings, visibility settings, policies and rate groups.

Prices of any kind (these come from the PMS or channel manager), status, per-room occupancy overrides, channels, currency, images, email notifications, market and category codes, geo restrictions, add-on settings and rate list position.

Prerequisites

  • Sending and receiving properties must share a group code (Advanced Site Profile, Group Codes). You cannot edit this setting yourself, so please ask your account manager.

  • Receiving properties need a PMS or channel interface enabled, Advanced price entry turned on, the rate's price entry type offered, and deposit modes set up in the finance profile.

  • Only externally managed rates (and rates linked to one) can be propagated.

  • The rate code must be 2 to 12 characters.

📌 Note: Propagation is a one-off copy, not a sync. Later changes at the sending property are not passed on. Propagated rates always arrive suspended and must be activated at the receiving property once prices are flowing.

Payments and integrations

Judo Pay

Judo Pay is now available as a payment option at checkout. Supported card types are displayed before the guest is redirected to the payment gateway. A new Judo Pay settings page lets you manage your API Token, Secret Key, Judo ID, endpoints and supported card types from the admin portal.

RMS Pay and RMS Cloud: more reliable linking

Automatic linking of RMS Pay payments to RMS Cloud reservations arrived in the previous release. This release makes it dependable in the cases the first version could not handle.

  • Linking retries automatically in the background until the reservation appears in RMS, so a slow or briefly unavailable RMS no longer loses the link.

  • The receipt is fuller. It includes the payment token, transaction reference, the property's own card type, any card surcharge and the voucher number. Apple Pay is mapped back to the card behind the wallet.

  • Multi-room bookings are receipted against the room the paying guest is on. If the person who paid is not staying, they are added to the first room as its primary guest so RMS accepts the payment token, and the guest staying remains on the reservation.

  • No duplicate guest profiles are created. Existing guests are matched on email address and name and reused.

  • Properties using RMS Pay for payment only (no RMS Cloud interface) now get their receipt posted against the RMS Pay guest account.

📌 Note: Retries stop after six attempts (about nine hours), after which the link needs review. Google Pay is not yet supported by RMS Pay. A guest who books again with a different email address will still get a new record. On a multi-room booking the single payment is receipted once, so the other rooms still show their deposit as outstanding.

Trybe spa and treatment bookings

Bookings with a missing or badly formatted treatment time were being rejected by some PMS interfaces and did not reach the hotel. Treatment times are now checked at every stage, and package bookings use the earliest valid treatment time on the package date. Treatment details on the guest booking page are also displayed more safely. No configuration is needed, and booking, payment and confirmation with Trybe are unchanged.

Save and come back reminders

The reminder email for guests who save a basket without completing it has been made safe to switch on, and is now re-enabled.

  • No reminder after booking: if the same email address has booked at the same property since the basket was saved, the reminder is skipped. A booking where every room has been cancelled does not count, so that guest is still reminded.

  • Unsubscribe link: the instant save email and the reminder both carry an unsubscribe link to a property branded confirmation page. Opening the link changes nothing until the guest confirms, so email security scanners cannot unsubscribe anyone.

  • One reminder per basket, sent at the midpoint between the save date and check-in, with a seven day catch-up if a nightly run is missed.

📌 Note: The check matches on the exact email address at the same property. The unsubscribe covers baskets already saved by that address at that property, and a basket saved later gets its emails as normal. The instant save email is always sent, the unsubscribe wording is in English on all language sites, and the opt-out is not shared with CRM or marketing suppression lists.

New reports and tools

Accounts Dashboard (CRM)

The Accounts Dashboard shows how well your Promo Codes and User Accounts (casual and corporate logins) are producing bookings, using the last 24 months of activity. It was previously visible to super users only and is now available to all CRM users. To find it, click Accounts, then click Account Dashboard.

  • For each code or account, see transactions, rooms, room nights, discounted and protected room nights, average length of stay, average lead time and total value.

  • A Detailed View panel shows rate and room donuts and heat maps of when bookings were made and when guests stay (including future stays already on the books). Multi-property CRM sites also get a property breakdown.

  • Filter by account type, and show top producers (15 per list, or 50 when one type is selected) or everything. Lists are ranked by room nights.

📌 Note: Data refreshes once a day, so the page shows the previous day's position. Flash Sales and bookings with no CRM account or promo code are not included.

Room and Rate Report and Upsell Report

Report

What it shows

Room and Rate Report

Booked nights for each day, split by room type and rate in colour-coded tables with a daily total. Move month by month, and open a daily figure to see the reservations behind it. Weekends are highlighted.

Upsell Report

Daily sales for each upsell item and group. Items charged per night or per day are shown against the dates they will be provided, not just the booking date, which helps with planning stock, staffing and guest services.

ECI / LCO close outs

A new Early Checkin / Late Checkout Close Outs screen lets you close out and reopen early check-in and late check-out for many rooms and dates at once, in a spreadsheet style grid. To find it, click Manage Rooms, then click ECI / LCO Close Outs.

  • Rooms run across the top (an ECI and an LCO column each) and dates down the side.

  • Click a cell to toggle it: a green tick is available, a red cross is closed out, and a blue outline is an unsaved change.

  • Bulk shortcuts close or open every room for a date, or every date for a room.

  • The grid always shows at least 30 days, and you can navigate the next 18 months.

  • Nothing is saved until you click Save changes, and every save is recorded in the change log.

  • The existing per-room editor (click Rooms, then click Edit Room) is unchanged, and both screens work on the same data.

📌 Note: The new screen handles close outs only. Allocations and prices per date are still edited in the per-room editor. Past dates are read only.

Security

⚠️ Important: Users with either the Allow Account Mgmt or Manage Card Access permission must now complete two-factor authentication by email when they log in.

Delegated card access management

Normal and group users can now manage card access for other users when the required permissions have been enabled for their account. Eligible users can:

  • Enable or disable another user's card access, and choose the sites it covers.

  • Reset another user's authenticator, and update the email address on a card access account.

  • Manage only the users and sites within their existing area of responsibility.

Managing card access requires the manager to confirm their identity with their authenticator. Safeguards stop access being granted to suspended or API-only accounts.

Risk-based email two-factor authentication

Login security now uses country and device information to decide when an extra email check is needed.

  • Users may be asked to enter a code sent to their email when they log in from a country not in their successful login history, or when an automated device or browser is detected.

  • A remembered verification can avoid repeated checks from the same country, but automated logins must always complete the email check.

  • Users are notified after a successful login from a new browser or a different country, so they can spot unexpected activity.
