Make an upsell mandatory as part of the booking process

Mandatory upsells can be used to show additional fees or charges which will be applied in addition to the room reservation on checkout.

πŸ€“ Tip: You will need to have enabled "Expand this group by default" in the Upsell Editor, located in the "Extra" tab.

1. Go into the Booking Engine .

2. On the left side panel, click on Upsells, then select upsell group list.

3. Click the Edit button on the right side of the screen of the upsell you wish to make mandatory.​
​4. Select Mandatory on the drop down list as the group type in the General tab of the upsell editor, then click on save changes.
​5. Add the price and price type of your mandatory upsell in the Group Items screen, which will appear after you have saved changes from selecting mandatory.
​6. Add any items which will be charged as mandatory extras to the room booking in the upsell customization editor by selecting the customize button on the top right side of screen.

7. You will be able to see the basic room price and the total of any additional mandatory fees on your search results page.
​8. Mandatory upsells appear immediately underneath the room occupancy selector regardless of the visibility of any other non-mandatory upsells. The user has no option to opt-out of a mandatory upsell.

9. The mandatory upsells are visible in the bill in the same way as normal upsells.

πŸ€“Tip: If you want to make your Mandatory Upsell stand out you can set a custom upsell colour.
