Update tax and fee display

Due to changes in consumer transparency requirements, taxes and fees appear throughout the booking flow, not just at the final checkout step. This gives your guests a clearer picture of the total cost from the moment they choose a room.

Taxes and fees appearance

Outlined below is how the tax and fees appear on the booking engine.

  • On the room and rate selection screen, below the total price.

  • On the guest configuration and upsell page including taxes from any upsells selected.

  • Mandatory fees are automatically applied and included in the total.

Depending on your site configuration, the tax line will display either incl. [amount] taxes or excl. [amount] taxes.

If no tax value is present, it will default to includes taxes and fees.


Enable display prices including taxes

Outlined below are details on how to enable display prices including taxes.

  1. Click Booking Engine.

  2. Hover over Site Configuration.

  3. Click Edit Site Profile.

  4. Click Flags.

  5. Tick Display Prices Including Taxes.

  6. Click save changes.

Display average rate per night prices including taxes

Outlined below are details on how to display average rate per night prices including taxes.

  1. Click Booking Engine.

  2. Hover over Site Configuration.

  3. Click Edit Site Profile.

  4. Click Flags.

  5. Tick Display Average Price per Night.

  6. Click save changes.
